woodbridge Memorial town hall mural

I was hired the Woodbridge, NJ township’s mayor, John McCormac, to paint an image of the old Woodbridge Town Hall in order to memorialize it on the wall of the Woodbridge train station.

While this mural did not require any custom illustrations or lettering, it proved to be extremely challenging in many other ways. Firstly, the research phase of this project was probably one of the deepest digs into archives I’ve ever had to do. There just weren’t any clear, head-on photographs of the building before it was torn down.

Beyond the research phase, this mural was my longest in duration, even if it wasn’t the largest in size. It took an entire 3 weeks to paint this 12ft x 24ft illustration because of the number of straight crisp lines it contained.
