Treat Yourself

This is a design I created partly as a personal project and partly for a competition to design a Panera gift card. I had some extra time on my hands at the time and always dreamed of creating a gift card for a big company. I did end up being one of the winners.

The concept behind this design was to use the ingredients found in a Panera menu item. I chose a Strawberry Poppyseed Salad, using blueberries, strawberries, greens, pineapples, poppy seeds and pecans. The hardest part of the design was building out the logo in poppy seeds, not only because of the precise design and small letters but because poppy seeds are surprisingly jumpy and difficult to work with.
