snapchat stickers

I was thrilled to be asked to design 2 sticker packs for Snapchat when they were teaming up with designers and letterers to create curated artist packs for their users. It was one of the most fun projects I’ve had to date because the art direction was completely open and the designs were all meant to be fun and colorful.

Each pack contained 15 stickers so it was a pretty work-heavy project that had short turn around times. I chose to create themed packs, one dessert-themed, calling it “Sweet Tooth,” and the other more cheeky-toned, which I called “Feelin’ Saucy.”

Client: Snapchat

Original sketches provided to the client shown above. There were small revisions that the client wanted me to make before proceeding to the next round of the project. They wanted to see 1st “Sweet Tooth” sketch in a tooth instead of a mouth, the lettering inside the 2nd, donut shape, was requested to be put onto donut frosting instead of just a circular donut shape, they wanted the 7th ice cream sketch to have words like the rest, 12th “Hi” sketch was asked to be more playful and fun, and they wanted to replace “Fudge” with “Treat Yo-self.”

The above were the second round of drawings, which were meant to implement all of the edits and add color. The client loved these and did not have any more revisions after this step.

Sketches for the second sticker pack “Feelin’ Saucy.” Like with the other sketches, the client asked to make a few revisions on these. They wanted the word “meh” to be lower case, because it worked better with the feeling that word exuded, they felt that “ugh", “nope” and “yup” were too similar, the word “mwa” was requested to have the letter “h” at the end, they didn’t love the swash on “Bored” and wanted to see it in a different style, and they wanted the lips to have a smirk instead of a kissy face. All of their changes were implemented in the second round below.
