Love is all you need

This was my first public mural and the one that launched me into painting murals as a specialty. I was commissioned by Edison Beautification to paint an inspiring phrase of my choosing on the wall of a business that was going through a restructuring. The challenge of this mural was reaching the wall as there was a very deep staircase right underneath it, which required me to build a wooden platform and attach it to the wall in order to have something to stand on. Overall, this project was a huge learning experience and I’ve received a lot of positive feedback from the neighborhood residents and business owners since it was installed.

One of the biggest challenges of this mural was creating a gradient of colors, which is very difficult to achieve with water-based house paints as they don’t really blend well at all.

This mural was originally initiated to be completed for the Tulip Walk in Clara Barton, Edison so the theme had to be floral. To make it extra special, I decided to also paint the stair wall in front of the main wall and add flowers that looked like they were growing out of the ground.
