Beer Label design

This was one of the most fun projects I’ve had to date because I got a design printed on actual beer. A lovely couple asked me to design a wax seal and a beer label for their wedding. They then partnered up with a friend that owns a brewery and got their own beer created for their wedding with my labels printed on them.

The vision for this project came from the couple’s invitation designs, which were simple, typographic and elegant. They wanted a gold, black and white design with their names and silhouettes on the label. They wanted the designs framed and possibly surrounded by a vintage-inspired frame, which was the inspiration for their wax seal design. Below are the initial rough sketches I presented to the client. They ended up being more drawn to the simpler design without the intricate frame.

For the wax seal, the client wanted a monogram designed with their first initials and the wedding date surrounded by a vintage-inspired frame. I presented them with several varied sketches to select from.

The final design was a combination of two different sketches, a monogram from one sketch and frame from another. Below is the final design the client chose.
